One can hardly imagine Ukraine without its melodious songs, inflammatory dances and majestic rites. It is impossible not to be admired with its culture and heroic history. Despite all the troubles Ukrainian people have faced on their way to freedom and independence they are still faithful to the national values and traditions. And every person, who has heard the songs performed by “Orpheus”, would understand how deeply these young men love their country.

All of them are different. Each person has his own life and his own world. The question appears automatically: what could unite them. But every Ukrainian would say with confidence: “It is music!” There is so much magic in this word, so many secrets are hidden behind. It attracts millions of people and never lets them off.

It took quite a long time for these men to create the group known as “Orpheus”. They knew each other for a long time before but they had never thought about working together. All of them graduated from music academies and spent much of the time singing in different choirs all over Ukraine. It seemed that nothing could bring them together. It was extremely difficult decision to quit everything they had and to start building a new life. But now they have no doubt – they’ve made a right choice.

It was the most important step in their career because nobody knew what would wait for them in the future. So, they began to work together in 2000. It was the first time they had to look at each other closer, get to know each other’s secrets and characters. And they succeeded. Songs began to appear, as well as invitations for concerts and festivals all over the world… And no matter in which country they perform at the moment, they always have a part of Ukraine in their hearts. It’s the Ukrainian song that brought them together and it’s the Ukrainian song that excites them to move forward.

These men have taken the heavy burden on their shoulders. They want to share the dearest and the most valuable thing for every Ukrainian –the Ukrainian song – with people of different nations all over the world. They founded their group in one of the sweetest places of Ukraine–in Lviv. And this heroic town always inspires “Orpheus” to work creatively, gives them the feeling boldness and reminds about their mission.
